Casa das Arts

This is the entrance to the Casa das Arts, in Porto, Portugal. The building was designed by Eduardo Souto De Moura.  I think this entrance is fantastic, cleverly blending with its surroundings. Souto De Moura’s architecture is present but supremely understated. Look at the attention to detail in the materials used in the outside wall, a composite of handmade terracotta bricks, plaster and milled stone. As well the doors are bespoke, extremely low profile stainless steel angle with reflective panels. I think its a beautiful combination of materials and subtle Architecture.
